If you ever plan to unblock the user, simply head back to their profile > tap on the three-dot icon > select Unblock.

Switching to a private account is cheaper and safer!
If none of the three options seem viable enough, the evergreen “Setting your Instagram account to private” is the go-to method to hide Instagram followers from everyone. This way, you don’t have to go through the trouble of blocking accounts, creating another one and managing two, or paying a decent sum for a blue tick.
To set your Instagram account to private > go to your profile > tap on the hamburger (☰) icon > select Account privacy > enable the toggle for Private account > tap on Switch to private to confirm.
Now, only your approved followers can view the list of people following you and the ones that you are following. If you haven’t accepted someone’s follow request, they won’t be able to view both these lists.
